Acwa Power Gets Prized 60-MW Plant In SunEdison Selloff

Law360, New York (July 9, 2012, 5:37 PM EDT) -- A consortium including Saudi Arabian energy giant Acwa Power International and a Connecticut private equity firm has snapped up a 60-megawatt Bulgarian solar power plant from operator SunEdison LLC, the largest in a summer sell-off of some of its European assets, Acwa announced Monday.

Neither party gave a price for the plant, but Belmont, Calif.-based SunEdison said the group — which also included units of Greenwich, Conn.-based First Reserve Corp. and Turkish investment firm Crescent Capital — backed the deal through a €155 million ($191 million)...
