Power Group Renews Fight Against FERC Transmission Rule

Law360, New York (July 10, 2012, 3:57 PM EDT) -- A group representing power companies has asked the D.C. Circuit to review a controversial rule meant to spur new transmission projects, the latest in a year-long fight between regulators seeking to force regional cooperation and utilities trying to protect their home turfs.

The Edison Electric Institute filed a petition July 2 asking the court for clarification and a possible rehearing of the Federal Energy Resources Commission’s Order No. 1000, which was finalized in August and affirmed by the agency in May over widespread industry objections....
