House Subpoenas Chao Over Utah Mine Docs

Law360 (September 25, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Education and Labor on Monday subpoenaed documents from the Department of Labor for the committee's investigation into the fatal Aug. 6 Crandall Canyon Mine collapse.

The subpoena, signed by Committee Chairman George Miller (D-Calif.), compels Secretary of Labor Elaine Chao to turn over all communications since March 1, 2006 related to the Utah mine that the Department of Labor has reviewed, both internally and between other companies.
