Lawmakers Stress Need For Alternative Vehicle Fuel Options

Law360, New York (July 10, 2012, 4:41 PM EDT) -- House lawmakers from both parties on Tuesday emphasized the importance of developing alternative fuel options for vehicles, including natural gas, while questioning representatives from the auto and energy industries during an Energy and Commerce subcommittee hearing.

In addition to examining current renewable fuel standards and options for expanding ethanol use, the Energy and Power subcommittee stressed the importance of maximizing the domestic natural gas resources uncovered over the past few years through hydraulic fracturing, or fracking.
