Mass. Hospital Group Urges Gov. To Halt $40M Medicaid Cuts

Law360, New York (July 10, 2012, 5:09 PM EDT) -- The Massachusetts Hospital Association is urging Gov. Deval Patrick to back away from $40 million in proposed spending reductions in the state’s Medicaid program, labeling them “unjustified, unfair and simply poor public policy.”

In a July 3 letter, the association takes aim at budget cuts that would be achieved through lower reimbursement rates for hospitals. The eight-figure sum affects MassHealth, the Bay State’s umbrella program for Medicaid and the Children’s Health Insurance Program.
