Suit Says Infantino Child Carrier Caused Baby's Death

Law360, New York (July 11, 2012, 6:12 PM EDT) -- A recalled infant sling manufactured by Infantino LLC caused the death of a Philadelphia child, according to a suit removed to federal court Tuesday following the dismissal of claims against several retailers.

Anthoinette Medley claims the company’s SlingRider baby carrier caused the suffocation death of her 7-week-old son Nelsir Scott in February 2009. In March 2010, the company announced the recall of the slings after they were linked to three deaths in 2009, including that of a 7-week-old infant in Philadelphia.
