GE Healthcare Recalls Ventilators Over Anesthesia Risks

Law360, New York (July 11, 2012, 2:42 PM EDT) -- General Electric Co.’s health care unit has recalled some of its surgical ventilators, due to the risk that they could deliver a potentially fatal overdose of anesthesia to surgical patients, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration said Wednesday.

The agency classified a voluntary recall issued by GE Healthcare LLC in April as a Class I recall, which is reserved for defective products that pose a significant risk of serious injury or death.
