Nonlawyer-Owned Discovery Cos. Can't Practice Law: DC Bar

Law360, New York (July 11, 2012, 10:52 PM EDT) -- Discovery service vendors cannot practice law in the District of Columbia if they are owned by passive nonlawyer investors, according to a recent opinion by the D.C. bar that impacts lawyers employed by such vendors or who manage them along with nonlawyer passive investors.
