NJ High Court To Tackle Attys' Fees Recovery Question

Law360, New York (July 13, 2012, 7:51 PM EDT) -- The New Jersey Supreme Court said Friday it will decide whether a law firm may recover attorneys' fees for representing itself in a collection action against a former client and whether a lower court erred in applying a 16 percent interest rate on the unpaid balance in the case.

Lawrence, N.J., resident E. Bruce DiDonato sought certification from the high court in appealing the $305,057.16 judgment awarded to Kern Augustine Conroy & Schoppmann PC for fees owed, collection costs and prejudgment interest
