DOI Hit With Second Suit Over Wyo. Oil, Gas Wells

Law360, New York (September 26, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The U.S. Department of Interior has been hit with the second lawsuit in a month challenging plans for 2,000 new oil and gas wells that would destroy various animal habitats in south-central Wyoming.

A coalition of environmental advocacy groups on Tuesday launched their lawsuit against the DOI's Bureau of Land Management in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, accusing it of approving at least 90 new wells without asking the public's opinion, as is required by law.
