FTC Ends Antitrust Probe Into Trojan Condoms

Law360, Los Angeles (July 13, 2012, 7:30 PM EDT) -- The Federal Trade Commission has closed its investigation into whether Church & Dwight Co., maker of Trojan-brand condoms and other consumer products, had attempted to monopolize the U.S. condom market.

In a letter sent to C&D dated June 25, the FTC's Bureau of Competition notified the company that the probe had ceased. The investigation was aimed at the company's rebate program offering retailers a discount on wholesale prices if they agreed to shelve the condoms in more visible areas.
