Backdating Suit Against Amkor Dismissed

Law360, New York (September 27, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A federal court has dismissed a putative securities class action filed against semiconductor packaging company Amkor Technology Inc. and certain of its current and former executives that alleged improper backdating of stock options and other securities law violations.

Judge Paul G. Rosenblatt of the U.S. District Court for the District of Arizona granted Amkor's motion to dismiss the case on Tuesday, saying that the securities class action fell short of the pleading standards under the Private Securities Litigation Reform Act.
