Hospital Group Pushes For Health Care Liability Reform

Law360, Washington (July 16, 2012, 1:10 PM EDT) -- A hospital association told the Senate Finance Committee in a letter Friday that heath care liability reforms could benefit hospitals and regulators alike by cutting costs and eliminating unnecessary litigation.

In an effort to revamp Medicare and Medicaid fraud-fighting efforts, the Federation of American Hospitals pointed out several areas of federal and state Medicare and Medicaid programs in need of reform, including consolidated audits, better separation between overpayment and fraud situations, and clearer enforcement reports and recommendations.
