Czech Co. Gets Power Plant Stake In $173M NRG Unit Buy

Law360, New York (July 17, 2012, 5:59 PM EDT) -- Czech energy group Energeticky a Prumyslovy Holding, or EPH, snapped up a large minority stake in a 900-megawatt coal-fired German plant as part of its €141 million ($173.3 million) purchase of a NRG Energy Inc. subsidiary, EPH said Tuesday.

The acquisition of a stake in the Schkopau power plant, part of EPH's acquisition of NRG's wholly owned Saale Energie GmbH, pushes EPH's installed power capacity to nearly 1,500 megawatts.
