E.U. Continues Probe Into Alleged "Patent Ambush" By Rambus

Law360 (June 27, 2005, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The European Union is quietly progressing in its inquiry into allegations that memory chip developer Rambus Inc engaged in “patent ambush” when it took part in industry efforts to create a DRAM standard without revealing that it held a key patent, according to a published report.

In March this year Infineon Technologies AG, which made the original complaint, settled its five-year legal battle with Rambus by agreeing to license the company's patents.
