Safety Watchdog Eyes Chrysler Jeeps, Dodge Rams For Defects

Law360, Chicago (July 23, 2012, 3:47 PM EDT) -- The federal highway safety regulator is investigating possible defects that may cause fires in Chrysler Group LLC's model year 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee sports utility vehicles and loss of control in its model year 2009 and 2010 Dodge Ram 1500 trucks, the agency said Thursday.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration launched a preliminary evaluation July 19 looking into whether the Dodge Rams at issue have a differential problem that may cause the rear wheels to lock up and lead to a loss of vehicle control....
