Groups Ask NLRB To Allow Grad Students To Unionize

Law360, New York (July 26, 2012, 6:41 PM EDT) -- Several labor unions filed briefs with the National Labor Relations Board on Monday that urged the board to reverse a Bush-era NLRB decision that found graduate students could not unionize, while university and employer groups asked the board to leave the decision in place.

Nearly a dozen briefs were filed in response to a notice from the board asking for input on whether it should modify or overrule its 2004 Brown University decision, which said graduate student assistants are not employees under the National Labor Relations...
