Watchdog Asks Reynolds To Cut Hefty Bag Strength Ad Claim

Law360, Chicago (July 24, 2012, 2:30 PM EDT) -- An advertising industry self-regulating group said Monday that Reynolds Consumer Products Inc. should pull an ad claim that its Hefty Slider storage bags' seals are two times stronger than those on competing Ziploc products made by S.C. Johnson & Son Inc.

The National Advertising Division, which is administered by the Council of Better Business Bureaus, said that product testing results did not support the quantified strength claim comparing the Hefty products to Ziploc bags.
