OSHA Issues Final Rule On STAA Whistleblower Procedures

Law360, New York (July 26, 2012, 8:31 PM EDT) -- The Occupational Safety and Health Administration on Thursday issued a final rule implementing the whistleblower provisions of the Surface Transportation Assistance Act, which incorporates changes made by a 2007 law that expanded the STAA's whistleblower protections.

In addition to implementing the changes made to the law by the the 9/11 Commission Act of 2007, the regulations also aim to make the procedures for handling whistleblower complaints under the STAA more consistent with OSHA's complaints, according to a notice slated for publication in the Federal Register on...
