Bill Would Strengthen Oversight Of Children's Products

Law360, New York (October 2, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Responding to the recent wave of toy recalls, Rep. Jim Walsh (R-N.Y.) introduced a bill in the U.S. House of Representatives on Monday that would tighten safety standards for products marketed to children.

“The continued recalls by American toy companies of products manufactured or produced overseas has parents on edge," Walsh said. "This is no way to head into the holiday season. My bill is aimed at making sure the toys that hit store shelves are certified and safe."
