Lloyds Puts Up $1.6B For Renewables, Infrastructure

Law360, New York (July 30, 2012, 6:52 PM EDT) -- Lloyds Banking Group PLC on Monday pledged to invest 1 billion pounds ($1.6 billion) in infrastructure in conjunction with the U.K.'s economic stimulus efforts, with about half of the commitment earmarked for renewable energy project financing.

Lloyds, which made the announcement pledge during a press conference in London, is looking to deploy the money as quickly as possibly, ideally within the next 12 months, the bank's global head of project finance Chris Heathcote told Law360.
