Morocco Closes Financing On $350M Wind Farm

Law360, New York (July 30, 2012, 8:23 PM EDT) -- Morocco's state-owned electric company closed financing late last week on a $350 million project that will develop the largest wind farm in Africa, attorneys for the government announced Monday.

The Office National de l'Electricite, or ONE, will build the 300-megawatt Tarfaya wind project in the southwestern part of the country, in line with Morocco's independent power project initiative — the second such project to be developed under the program, according to Chadbourne & Parke LLP, ONE's legal counsel on the project.
