Ford Says Dana's Faulty Frames Led To Windstar Recall

Law360, New York (August 1, 2012, 5:51 PM EDT) -- Ford Motor Co. on Friday sued auto parts supplier Dana Corp. in Michigan state court for allegedly providing it with faulty vehicle frames that resulted in the 2011 recall of more than 425,000 Ford Windstar minivans.

Ford’s 2011 voluntary recall of its 1999-2003 Windstar models involved rusted or corroded parts that affected steering control, and mostly affected vehicles in cold-weather states where streets were salted to clear snow. In August 2010, Ford had recalled 575,000 Windstar minivan models for rear-axle corrosion problems.
