Murray Energy Blames Ohio Mine Closure On Coal Regs

Law360, New York (August 1, 2012, 6:42 PM EDT) -- A Murray Energy Corp. unit will shut down a coal mine near Brilliant, Ohio, saying Tuesday that the regulations issued by the Obama administration had forced the company to permanently close its operations in the area.

OhioAmerican Energy Inc. blamed “regulatory actions by President Barack Obama and his appointees and followers” for the shuttering the mine, which it said would eliminate hundreds of direct jobs and threaten thousands of secondary jobs.
