EEOC GC Says Hiring Bias, Vulnerable Workers Are Priorities

Law360, New York (August 2, 2012, 8:40 PM EDT) -- Hiring discrimination and matters involving vulnerable workers are priorities for the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission because the private plaintiffs bar is less inclined to tackle those areas, EEOC General Counsel P. David Lopez said Wednesday.

The agency, dealing with limited resources, wants to address issues that the private plaintiffs' lawyers aren't pursuing extensively, and hiring discrimination and vulnerable populations — which Lopez defined as groups that have not traditionally exercised their rights — fit the bill, he told Law360.
