Kenosha Beef Recalls Patties Over Risk Of Foreign Material

Law360, New York (August 3, 2012, 12:29 PM EDT) -- Meat manufacturer Kenosha Beef International Ltd. is recalling almost 19 tons of frozen bacon cheeseburger patties because pieces of gasket material may be embedded in the beef, the U.S. Department of Agriculture announced Thursday.

The USDA's Food Safety and Inspection Service has classified the health risk associated with the recall as low. Kenosha Beef heard about the problem from a consumer complaint, but no one appears to have been harmed by the foreign material in the beef patties, the agency said.
