6th Circ. Sides With NLRB, Orders ADT To Recognize Union

Law360, New York (August 3, 2012, 5:19 PM EDT) -- The Sixth Circuit on Friday ordered ADT Security Services Inc. to recognize a union of Michigan servicemen, affirming the National Labor Relations Board's finding that the security company violated labor laws by unilaterally dissolving the union.

The appeals judges validated the NLRB's conclusion that ADT couldn't kill a 29-year-old bargaining unit by merging its unionized Kalamazoo, Mich., office with a nonunionized office near Grand Rapids.
