Semiconductor Co. ASML Sells $1B Stake To Taiwanese Co.

Law360, New York (August 6, 2012, 1:42 PM EDT) -- Dutch semiconductor parts maker ASML Holding NV has issued its second minority stake in a research and development co-investment program, selling a 5 percent equity stake to the Taiwanese Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. for $1.04 billion, both companies said Sunday.

TSMC has separately agreed to invest $342.1 billion in an ASML-led joint venture to develop new forms of lithography, an integral part of semiconductor chip manufacturing.
