EU Lifts Sanctions On Iranian Bank Officials

Law360, New York (August 6, 2012, 2:20 PM EDT) -- The European Union has rolled back sanctions intended to restrict Iran’s nuclear program that targeted five officials connected to Iranian banks, including the head of Bank Mellat, according to a notice published Friday.

In a notice published in the Official Journal of the EU, the Council of the European Union lifted restrictive measures against five Iranians connected with financial institutions that have allegedly supported Iran's weapons of mass destruction program, including Melli Bank PLC, Persia International Bank PLC, Banque Sina and Bank Mellat.
