Japan's Sharp, Taiwan's AU Optronics Pen Licensing Pact For Flat-Panel Patents

Law360 (July 7, 2005, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Japan's Sharp Corp. and Taiwan’s AU Optronics Corp, two of the world's largest flat-panel makers, have signed a cross-licensing deal that partially ends their dispute over flat-panel technology, the companies said.

The agreement, effective until 2010, allows each party to use the other party's patents covering thin-film-transistor liquid crystal display (TFT-LCD) panels for personal computer applications, the companies said.
