FDA Reveals Plan To Speed Up Generic Drug Review

Law360 (October 4, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has unveiled a new program designed to speed up the process of getting generic drugs approved and to hasten the market entry of the less expensive generics.

The program - Generic Initiative for Value and Efficiency, or GIVE - revealed Thursday, aims to make the generic drug review process at the FDA significantly more productive in response to increases in the number of generic drug applications filed with the FDA.
