Hartford Drops Coverage Fight Over $20M Fuel Gel Suit

Law360, New York (August 7, 2012, 7:46 PM EDT) -- Hartford Casualty Insurance Co. on Monday voluntarily dismissed a lawsuit it brought in federal court to avoid indemnifying an Oregon product testing laboratory in a $20 million suit over a fuel gel explosion that seriously injured a woman.

Hartford claimed in a November complaint that its policies with Omni-Test Laboratories, which specializes in testing fireplaces, wood-burning stoves and the like, did not cover injuries resulting from mistakes or defects in Omni's testing.
