Pa. Code Revision Bill Lets Some Cities Up Property Tax

Law360, New York (August 8, 2012, 5:06 PM EDT) -- A bill aiming to modernize the code for Pennsylvania’s third-class cities that would allow them to incrementally increase property taxes is moving through the state's General Assembly. 

While the piece of legislation, Senate Bill 874, is aimed at updating the code that governs Pennsylvania’s small cities rather than correcting the financial problems in many of these locales, advocates for the bill, which was referred to the Senate’s Appropriations Committee in June, hope for some gains in efficiency.
