Sidley Austin To Pay $27.5M To End Age Bias Suit

Law360, New York (October 5, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- In a decision deemed as affirmation that mandatory retirement plans at law firms are not immune from age discrimination laws, Sidley Austin LLP has agreed to pay $27.5 million to resolve allegations by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission that 32 former partners were forced out because of their age.
