Cheniere Greenlights Work On $5.6B LNG Export Project

Law360, New York (August 10, 2012, 1:40 PM EDT) -- Houston-based Cheniere Energy Partners LP has given a long-awaited go-ahead to a California construction firm to begin work on a $5.6 billion Louisiana natural gas liquefaction and export project partially funded by Blackstone Group LP, Cheniere said Thursday.

Cheniere, a unit of Cheniere Energy Inc., said it had issued a full notice to Bechtel Oil Gas and Chemical Inc. to proceed with construction of phase one of the blockbuster liquefied natural gas project.
