Intel Requests More Time To Answer EU Allegations

Law360, New York (October 8, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Intel Corp. is seeking more time to reply to antitrust allegations brought by the European Commission claiming the chip manufacturer used a series of business tactics to push its smaller competitor Advanced Micro Devices Inc. out of the market.

"Intel has asked for an extension, and it is currently under consideration,” Commission spokesperson Jonathan Todd told Dow Jones International News on Monday.

An Intel spokesperson said the company sent its request for an extension on Oct. 2.
