Inpex Picks Up 7% Stake In Anadarko-Led Gulf Energy Project

Law360, New York (August 14, 2012, 2:08 PM EDT) -- Japanese energy company Inpex Corp. has acquired a minority working interest in a Gulf of Mexico deepwater drilling joint venture led by Texas-based oil and gas developer Anadarko Petroleum Corp., Inpex said Tuesday.

The Japanese firm announced that it had acquired a 7.2 percent participating interest in the Lucius oil field project through its North American subsidiary, Teikoku Oil Co. Ltd. Anadarko, which owns a plurality of the energy joint venture, sold the stake to Inpex through a production subsidiary.
