CORRECTED: Drill-Friendly Zoning Law On Hold Pending Pa. High Court Input

Law360, Philadelphia (August 16, 2012, 3:04 PM EDT) -- The Pennsylvania Commonwealth Court ruled Wednesday to keep alive an injunction blocking the enforcement of a law designed to encourage gas drilling in the Marcellus Shale, pending the commonwealth's appeal to the Pennsylvania Supreme Court.

The ruling — handed down from the bench by Commonwealth Court Judge Dan Pellegrini — marks another victory for the seven municipalities who sued the state seeking to halt implementation of Act 13, the state law that sought to preempt municipal zoning of oil and gas development.
