Calif. Panel Backs Illegal Immigrant's Effort To Join Bar

Law360, San Diego (August 16, 2012, 5:23 PM EDT) -- Showing support for an illegal immigrant's bid before the California Supreme Court to be admitted to the state bar as a licensed attorney, a state Assembly panel on Thursday passed a bill that aims to bar immigration status from being a factor in determining whether to approve a license to practice law.
