Argentina Strikes Back At US Over WTO Import Complaints

Law360, New York (August 21, 2012, 4:56 PM EDT) -- Argentina will file a World Trade Organization complaint against the U.S. for blocking Argentine meat and citrus imports, Argentina's Foreign Ministry said Tuesday, firing back after the U.S. and Japan lodged WTO complaints over the country's import licensing policies.

Argentina was sour because the U.S. market for lemons has been closed off to it since 2001 and had beef with unreasonable delays on import authorization for fresh, chilled or frozen meat, the Foreign Ministry said.
