Synthes Bone Putty Recalled Over Fire Risk During Surgery

Law360, New York (August 21, 2012, 5:44 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Food and Drug Administration on Tuesday said Johnson & Johnson subsidiary Synthes Inc.’s bone putty product can catch fire during surgery and has been recalled.

The Class 1 recall is the most serious type of recall and involves situations in which there is a reasonable probability that use of these products will cause serious adverse health consequences or death, the FDA said.
