Heineken Drops $289M For Another Slice Of Asian Brewery

Law360, New York (August 22, 2012, 4:47 PM EDT) -- Heineken NV has purchased a 2.68 percent stake in Asia Pacific Breweries Ltd. for around 362 million Singapore dollars (US$289.3 million), another step in the Dutch beer giant’s bid to build its presence in the growing Asian beer market, it said Wednesday.

Heineken said it paid SG$53 per share (US$42.42) for a total consideration around SG$362 million, but it did not name the sellers. The share price matches the beer titan's latest SG$5.9 billion offer, made in July, to buy out Singapore's Fraser & Neave Ltd.'s...
