Freight Forwarders Face Global Pricing Probe

Law360, New York (October 10, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- International freight forwarders have become the target of a raid by U.S. and European antitrust regulators who are looking into whether major players in the industry have engaged in price-fixing.

The European Commission confirmed Wednesday that it had initiated surprise investigations at the offices of many freight forwarding companies, and stated it has “reason to believe that the companies concerned may have violated EC Treaty rules that outlaw restrictive business practices.”
