Koss Targets Software Co. Over 'Hearing Is Believing' Tagline

Law360, New York (August 23, 2012, 6:46 PM EDT) -- Headphone maker Koss Corp. hit audio software developer Max Sound Corp. with a trademark infringement lawsuit Thursday in Wisconsin federal court, accusing the company of ripping off its long-registered slogan.

Koss says Max Sound has been using the slogan “Hearing is Believing” on its website and in promotional material to sell its high-definition audio software, even though the headphone company has been using the phrase as its main tagline since the 1960s and has had the mark federally registered since 1981.
