HHS Gives States $765M For Health Insurance Exchanges

Law360, New York (August 23, 2012, 6:36 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services on Thursday issued a total of $765 million in grants to eight states to help them implement insurance exchanges mandated by the health care overhaul, saying the grants would give the states additional resources and flexibility.

According to a statement by HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius, the grants will go to California, Connecticut, Hawaii, Iowa, Maryland, Nevada, New York and Vermont, bringing the total number of states to receive grants for the implementation of insurance exchanges to 34, plus...
