2nd Circ. Balks At Notion Of Attys Whistleblowing On Clients

Law360, New York (August 23, 2012, 6:33 PM EDT) -- A Second Circuit panel on Thursday was skeptical that lawyers should be allowed to bring whistleblower lawsuits against their clients or employers, as a former general counsel for a Quest Diagnostics Inc. subsidiary pressed to revive a Medicare fraud suit against the company.

The three-judge panel seemed cool to the notion that lawyers can remain within industry rules even as they bring qui tam suits against their old bosses.
