Louisiana Calls On EPA To Oppose Arkansas Permit

Law360 (October 12, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The Louisiana attorney general has urged the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to object to a wastewater discharge permit that Arkansas granted to El Dorado Chemical Co., Lion Oil Co. and Great Lakes Chemical Corp.

Louisiana lodged its opposition to the permit in March when it filed an appeal with the Arkansas Pollution Control and Ecology Commission. The state argued that Arkansas did not provide enough information showing that the permit complies with Louisiana's clean water standards.
