CPSC Toughens Safety Guidelines For Children's Play Yards

Law360, Los Angeles (August 28, 2012, 9:50 PM EDT) -- The Consumer Product Safety Commission on Tuesday issued a final rule stiffening safety standards for the manufacture of children's play yards aimed at reducing injuries and deaths.

The new regulations, which will be published Wednesday in The Federal Register, will apply to all play yards manufactured or imported on or after Feb. 28, 2013. The federal standard was approved in June by CPSC in a 4-0 vote and will be incorporated into ASTM F 406-12a.
