China, Germany To Initiate Talks To Resolve Solar Trade Row

Law360, New York (August 30, 2012, 2:58 PM EDT) -- German and Chinese leaders agreed Thursday to open negotiations on their dispute over solar panel materials pricing, with both sides saying the matter should be resolved by discussion, not by litigation.

During German Chancellor Angela Merkel’s visit to China Thursday as part of the two countries’ economic cooperation summit, Gao Hucheng, international trade representative for the Chinese Ministry of Commerce, chaired a discussion regarding the solar trade dispute with German Vice Chancellor Philipp Roesler.
