Morgan Stanley Leads $300M Chinese Hydropower Investment

Law360, New York (September 4, 2012, 6:14 PM EDT) -- The infrastructure branch of Morgan Stanley has led a consortium of private equity investors that agreed to pour $300 million into a Chinese hydropower operator, it said Tuesday, a major investment in the coal-heavy country's renewables sector amid a push for cleaner fuels.

Morgan Stanley Infrastructure ponied up the backing alongside Chinese firm FountainVest Partners and Olympus Capital Holdings Asia, the Wall Street Journal reported.
